The Community
The origins of the community come from the early happy 90s when Volkswagen enthusiasts gathered in various clubs and on the streets around Skåne. In Malmö there was the Flat Four Society and in Ystad the Fläktfolket. The activities were many and varied as most of the active people were in their 20s-25s and all the time was available for meetings, parties, get-togethers, etc.
At that time, there was really only one big VW event in Sweden and that was the Bug Run at Mantorp north of Mjölby. We came there from many different directions and many from long distances. That get-together has been going on for over 40 years.
Now What?
Now that most of us are starting to become adults, plus VAT and many of us may have been away for a few years as is often the case with family, houses and other things that take focus, a bunch of us feel that it is time to use our life experience, contacts and friendship to create the VW community 2.0.
Malmö in the south is a good place to gather enthusiasts from both Sweden and all our neighboring countries where there are lots of happy, nice VW friends.
We want to create conditions so that we can leave something fantastic for the regrowth and the future.
Malmö Raceway
This fantastic facility "almost in the middle of Malmö" has for 22 years been a reality for both local and visiting racers, notorious and well known for world-class grip and preparation. When Top Fuelers do PB on 60-foot, it is no joke. It is one of the tracks at Street Week South and in 2025 the attendance record was probably broken with almost 3500 people in attendance.
Skania “Flat Four” Weekend
Doing an event is like putting together a good and tempting buffet. There should be something for most people but still a clear tone. We want to enable lots of driving, lots of talking and room for nice cars.

What are we thinking?
Anton: To put Malmö Raceway on the map with a big event for all parts of the air-cooled VW culture
Filip: A nice, friendly VW meetup with an open and welcoming atmosphere for competitors and spectators
Ole: To receive registrations for 2027 already on Sunday.
Patrik: An epic meetup for everyone who likes VW or blue smoke
Stefan: To have the fattest VW race car lineup this side of the pond, lots of crazy two-strokes and nice show cars.
